Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day will be the Anniversary November 23, 2018 when I was digging a hole in my yard to buried my beloved dog Opie two day after I had him operated on by Dr. Robbins at a cost of almost $ 9,000 dollars.
Opie was a miniature Schnauzer just 3 years old – he had a problem without notice a problem urinating – after surgery received call from Dr. Robbins that everything when well – Opie did fine with some medication and in 6 months he will be back to his normal self we are going keep him an extra day for observation before going home.
That night he had a Grand Mal Seizure – rushed back to Buffalo Grove – waiting for a call no one called I called and left a message as I was driving up that to see how Opie was doing – I got call from one of the stand-in physician there the report was – if anything could have gone wrong with surgery and care – it without a doubt did. His hold body was completely under attack every vital organ known had serious issues.
As the physician was rattling off all of the things Opie was know having issues with – she told me I almost forgot he know blind.
He was laying in cage on the flood – no IV’s no bowl of water or food. His little legs seem to be moving a 100 miles hours – her words were we can continue medicating him – I said look at that poor dog – I think he has been through enough at VSC animal hospital – I think he should be euthanized her words it must the money.
Then came in to collect for that service – ask about a burial site- head stone – cremation – Urn – Pictures – Paw Prints – and etc.
I personally filed a lawsuit in Lake County – received a call from Mr. Robbins attorney offering me somewhere around $ 9,000.00 to go away.
I decided to have my day in court – problem – VSC is in Lake County – Courthouse Lake County – Judge would not allow me to ask any questions regarding what happen after being told everything went well back to normal in 6 months or sooner I was looking for answers and because I am not expert – I not represented by an Expert or Attorney.
Remember the Expert -and Attorney
Case Closed.VSC took care of our Buster for stage 4 lymphoma in 2018. After initially treating him with the Madison Wisconsin chemotherapy he was in remission. We gave him several cancer fighting herbs to further fight the cancer. For the next 5 years he became a “regular” patient there for maintenance and regular check-ups. He made many “girl friends” in the oncology department and several more in the cardiology department. They all gave him excellent care and a lot of love. Sadly, in February 2023 he developed pneumonia and was there in emergency for 6 days. During that time, he was visited by everyone there who knew him before he passed.
We can’t thank all the excellent doctors and staff enough for their excellent care and compassion. We highly recommend VSC Bannockburn for any pet and any illness.
