GVA opened its doors in 2003 with Russell Ridge Animal Hospital, realizing Dr. Brad Miller and Dr. Michael Wanchick’s dream to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care for small animal patients. In 2005 the doctors opened Hamilton Ridge Animal Hospital in Buford, and then in 2007, Apalachee Ridge Animal Hospital was opened in Dacula. Lastly, Camden Village Animal Hospital was opened in 2013 to serve the Johns Creek/Duluth/Alpharetta areas.
As a member of the American Animal Hospital Association since 2009, GVA adheres to rigid requirements for quality medical care and participates in comprehensive hospital inspections. We are proud to be a member of the organization and to have accredited all four of our practices.
Russell Ridge Animal Hospital has won Best of Gwinnett 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Best of Gwinnett winners and nominees are chosen by a combination of readers’ votes and editors’ input. The process starts with a nomination on the Best of Gwinnett website and voting remains open for up to 10 months. We receive tens of thousands of votes and the process culminates with the publishing of our annual Best of Gwinnett issue.
The Russell Ridge Animal Hospital is a very wonderful and caring facility and treat their pets and their pet parents as if they have known them for years even if they just met. I cannot say enough about my experience with Dr. Evan’s and the staff on Mother’s wmorning when I called for an appointment as my dog was coughing all Saturday night and they asked if I could be there at 9 am when it was 8 am when I called. The entire staff are such caring people.
